Faraday in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners: The Fixer Behind the Betrayal
The short version
Faraday is the Santo Domingo fixer who hires Maine's crew in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and the show's main antagonist, voiced by Giancarlo Esposito in English and Kazuhiko Inoue in Japanese. He works for Militech first and then, through a deal that goes wrong for almost everyone, for Arasaka.

A fixer with four eyes#
Faraday is a slim man with gray hair and a burgundy suit, and four optical implants, three on one side of his face. He gets out of a car in episode 3, tells Maine the data from the car heist is useless, and drives off again. Maine explains afterward that people like Faraday are the ones with the money.
His goal is a seat in the corporate world, and he does not pretend a fixer's job is anything else than a way to get there.
Who he works for#
Faraday's contracts for Maine's crew come from Militech, and almost all of them are corporate espionage against Arasaka. That is why he wants Tanaka's navigation data, and later Tanaka's files.
In the Gangs of Night City board game his card calls him the go-to fixer of Pacifica and a precise planner who hates it when things go off script.
Spoilers The plan
After Maine's death Faraday keeps using David's crew. Arasaka sends a hit team after him, and Militech refuses him protection when he fails to deliver Tanaka's data on the Cyberskeleton. He cuts a deal with Arasaka: find the netrunner who erased Tanaka's data, and he gets a chance to join. With Kiwi's help he catches Lucy, and uses her to force David into the Cyberskeleton.
He dies at Arasaka Tower, during the fight with Adam Smasher. Kiwi, whom Faraday has killed as a loose end, gives David the location of his aerodyne before dying. Our read: a man who spent the series climbing ends up dead at the top of a tower he was never going to be let into. His own line to Kiwi in episode 9 puts it plainly: fixers are glorified pet owners who keep their mercenary hounds well fed, and the only measure of success is a place in the corporate world.
Fixer's notes#
The best thing about Faraday is how little he raises his voice. In the Gangs of Night City card his method is to calmly tell you that you made a mistake and that you should behave better next time, and to leave you unsure whether there will be a next time.
Read up on the man he drives away, Maine, and Kiwi, the netrunner he deals with through Maine's crew. If you play, he is the fixer who hires the party, pays well and quietly keeps a second client.
